The unique Estonian comedy duo Boris Bogdanov & Sergei Rymar present a new production of the hit comedy “Dinner for Schmucks”!
When brilliant intellect collides with genius stupidity, true theatrical magic begins!
“Dinner for Schmucks” is a sparkling comedy of manners where laughter meets irony, and beneath its apparent lightness lie surprisingly deep themes.
Every week, a group of arrogant intellectuals host a dinner… for fools. Each guest brings along the most ridiculous person they can find — purely for the sake of mockery and amusement. But this time, nothing goes according to plan.
The main character, Pierre Brochan, a self-confident publisher, believes he has found the perfect candidate: François Pignon, a naive tax inspector with an absurd passion for building elaborate models out of matchsticks. Yet this “fool” turns out to be far from simple. Instead of becoming the butt of the joke, Pignon begins to unravel Brochan’s carefully constructed life. A chain of ridiculous misunderstandings turns the evening into a complete disaster, transforming the smug intellectual from hunter into the victim of his own scheme.
Filled with sharp dialogue and biting satire, Francis Veber’s play mercilessly mocks snobbery and reminds us that true foolishness lies in arrogance.
For more than thirty years, this play has enjoyed enormous success on leading stages around the world. It consistently sells out theatres, drawing audiences back time and again with its vibrant emotion, subtle humor, and irresistible charm. Beloved by spectators everywhere, each performance ends in thunderous applause. This is truly one of the brightest and most successful comedies of our time.
