Ligalize is one of the key OG figures of Russian-language rap, with more than 20 years on stage, known for powerful lyrics, a distinctive delivery, and the high energy of his live performances.
In 2006 he released his debut album XL, which received two “Gold Disc” certifications, was named “Album of the Year” by Rap.ru, and earned him the MTV Russia Music Awards in the category Best Hip-Hop / Rap / R’n’B Project for the track “Future Mothers.” Over the years, Ligalize has worked both as a solo artist and within various projects — including Yarost Inc., with whom he released the album “A Barrel of Tar.”
In the 2010s he returned to active solo work, releasing the albums “Zhivoy,” “Molodoy Korol,” and ALI, and also revived the cult group D.O.B., recording the duo album “Aborigines of Funk.” Throughout his career, Ligalize has shared the stage with 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Black Eyed Peas, ONYX, Noize MC, and many other artists.
On June 30, 2023, Ligalize released the anti-war music video “Peace!! To!! Your!! Home!!”, after which he emigrated from Russia to Lithuania. In 2025 he released the anti-war album “Episode 4,” which became an important part of his modern discography.
